Child day care

Every child has a legal entitlement to a childcare place from the age of one and a right to a place in a daycare facility from the age of three. Childcare places in daycare facilities are offered by public and independent youth welfare organizations.

Flexible childcare services are offered by childminders, particularly for children under the age of three. As a rule, parents must notify the responsible youth welfare office in writing of their childcare needs at least six months before using the place.
