Volunteer support at the outdoor pool

The technical team of the swimming pool association is looking for more members and supporters for the work in and around the Kevelaer outdoor pool!

What and who are you looking for?

Lots of helping hands! In principle, everyone who can and wants to help with the work at the outdoor pool is welcome. The following professions are particularly helpful for the maintenance and care of the outdoor pool:

  • Electrical engineering, metalworking, sanitary installation, craftsmen

What work is carried out on a regular and current basis?

Before and after the end of the outdoor pool season, various small and large jobs need to be done:

  • covering the sand areas of the mud facility, the nest swing and the volleyball court and clearing the facilities before the season
  • Emptying and filling the water pipes
  • Commissioning the sprinkler system before the start of the season
  • Testing the electrical distribution
  • Checking the play equipment and seating
  • Minor maintenance work

Work on the pool liner in the front section of the non-swimmers' pool is also planned for winter 2024/2025, which will complete this measure.

When will work start on the outdoor pool?

Since Saturday, 12.10.2024, the technical team has been working regularly again. The team meets every Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00 in the outdoor pool. At around 09:30 there is then a joint breakfast, which is prepared by other members of the pool association.

Anyone can join in and simply take a look at the work and the interaction and then decide whether regular participation is desirable/imaginable. Participation is otherwise voluntary. Arrangements are made regularly with regard to the work to be done and the members present.

What needs to be considered?

  • Insurance cover: Members of the Bäderverein Kevelaer e.V. and their representatives enjoy free liability and accident insurance cover through the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer for their voluntary work in the pools.
  • Work safety: Work clothing and safety shoes are paid for by the pool association.
