SportBox - One box, lots of sport

Utilization:
The SportBox can only be used via a corresponding app! The app can be downloaded from both the AppStore and the AndroidStore and then installed. There is a QR code on the SportBox that can be used to download the app directly.
You then register in the app with your personal data, both your name and address are required.
After completing registration, the SportBox in Kevelaer can be searched for in the app and a corresponding time slot can then be booked during the booking process. The time slots always initially comprise one hour, but can also be extended.
The SportBox can be opened via the app during the specified period using the "Open Box" button. All sports equipment is then available and can be used.
IMPORTANT: During the booked period, always close the door of the SportBox as soon as equipment has been removed. The SportBox then locks and can only be opened again by the booked user ("Open Box" button). At the end of the training session, all sports equipment must be returned. The SportBox then uses the permanently installed cameras to determine that all equipment is back in the box.
The user who has booked the time is responsible for the period of use.

Background:
The "ReStart - Sport bewegt Deutschland" program of the German Olympic Sports Confederation(DOSB), funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland, offered the opportunity to apply for a public rental service including training equipment. In order to exploit the potential of open space design, up to 150 publicly accessible, free rental facilities were to be funded across the board as part of the program. Freely accessible sports and training equipment can lower the barrier to doing sports and facilitate and increase physical activity in society outdoors, especially after the restrictions in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
In the first round of applications, applications for funding for such a rental service could be submitted to the DOSB until the end of February 2023. One of the prerequisites was cooperation with a local sports club. This agreement was reached with KSV Kevelaer.
The DOSB approved funding for such a rental service in April 2023.
The grant provides for a SportBox to be made available to the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and transferred as part of a donation agreement. The SportBox was already delivered on 27.07.2023. However, due to the persistently poor weather conditions, the SportBox could not be set up by then. The installation took place on Wednesday, 09.08.2023.
Since that day, the SportBox has been "online" and is available for use by the people of Kevelaer and all interested parties. Another competent partner has been found in Athletic Area from Kevelaer, which has already held various training sessions with the equipment.
