CITY CYCLING 2024

As a climate partner, the district of Kleve and all municipalities in the district are taking part in CITY CYCLING together and want to cover as many kilometers as possible by bike in the period from 17.06. to 07.07.2024. Every distance counts. Whether it's the way to work or school, everyday errands or the way to the nearest ice cream parlor. Last year, 405 cyclists covered a total of 98,270 kilometers for Kevelaer and avoided 16 tons of CO2. This broke the record from the previous year. Will we manage to cycle even more kilometers together this year?

Take part now!

Who can take part?

Anyone who lives, works, goes to school or belongs to a Kevelaer club can take part in CITY CYCLING for Kevelaer. Of course, the kilometers do not have to be cycled locally. Kilometers that are cycled on vacation or abroad, for example, also count towards the total.

To take part, click on the "Join now" button above, set up a new team or join an existing one. If you don't want to register online, you can get the paper registration forms from the mobility manager Mara Ueltgesforth at the town hall.

How are the kilometers counted?

After registration and with the start of CITY CYCLING in Kevelaer, you can enter and edit the kilometers you have cycled on the CITY CYCLING website or in the CITY CYCLING app. A print template for analog submission will be provided on the website before the start of the campaign. Alternatively, you can collect it from the town hall.

Event highlights

DJ bike tour

On 22.06.2024, at 20:00, the DJ bike tour with DJ "Diskallico" will take place in Kleve. The starting point is in front of the library of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve. The tour starts at 8 pm and lasts about an hour at a leisurely pace. The tour will be led by Diskallico, who will play live music on his bike during the ride. The tour ends on the university campus, where Diskallico will continue to play. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site from the Alevi Cultural Center .

For cyclists from Kevelaer, the event could be a nice end to a day trip. If the distance from Kevelaer to Kleve is too long for you, you can simply take your bike on the RE 10 and ride from Kevelaer station to Kleve station. Have fun cycling!
