City administration building of the Stadtkevelaer

Your training

to become an IT specialist (m/f/d) specializing in "system integration"

Location: IT department ("Central Services" department)

In this three-year apprenticeship, we will make you fit in theory and practice!

IT specialists specializing in system integration plan and configure IT systems. As in-house service providers, they set up these systems according to the respective requirements and operate or manage them. This also includes systematically isolating and rectifying faults that occur using expert and diagnostic systems. They advise users on the selection and use of devices and solve application and system problems. They also create system documentation and provide training for users.

The relevant knowledge and skills are taught at the vocational school and at the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer in the IT department (Central Services department).

This is where the trainees learn, for example:

  • which client and server operating systems are available and the advantages and disadvantages of the respective environments
  • how they can develop solutions to specific problems and tasks independently and in a structured manner
  • how data protection and data security are professionally implemented
  • how to analyze the IT market and make technically and economically sound purchasing decisions
  • What to look out for when testing systems and how to provide stable systems through consistent error analysis
  • how to apply programming logic and methods
  • how to administer and further develop a complex Windows network
  • how to inform and advise users and document application solutions in a user-friendly way
  • what to look out for when designing data models
  • how complex networks are set up
  • how to integrate hardware and software components into existing systems and make them available in a user-friendly way
  • how software architectures are integrated into networks and how systems are controlled taking into account operational processes
  • what to consider when setting up user interfaces and user dialogs

At vocational school, further knowledge is imparted in job-specific learning fields (e.g. simple and networked IT systems, development and provision of application systems) as well as in general education subjects such as German/communication and politics/social studies.

We are looking for people who are committed and willing to learn, who communicate positively and are open to new
ideas. We expect:

  • At least Fachoberschulreife (grade point average at least 3.0)
  • Distinct technical and spatial imagination
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Good powers of abstraction
  • a high degree of reliability and accuracy
  • Creativity and perseverance
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • High motivation, willingness to perform and learn
  • independent work

We offer among other things:

  • Qualified, varied, interesting and challenging vocational training
  • optimal training support
  • an attractive salary in accordance with TVAöD (monthly training allowance (gross) in the 1st training year (AJ): € 1,218.26, in the 2nd AJ: € 1,268.20, in the 3rd AJ: € 1,314.02)
  • all the advantages of public service benefits, e.g. an annual special payment, payment of capital-forming benefits, vacation arrangements well above the statutory minimum vacation entitlement

The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer regularly trains one trainee (m/f/d) in this profession. As a rule, the training position is reallocated every three years (after the previous trainee (m/f/d) has completed their training).

As soon as the apprenticeship is advertised (usually in the fall), you are welcome to apply via our online application portal.
