as an industrial clerk (m/f/d)

In this three-year apprenticeship, we will make you fit in theory and practice!

Industrial clerks work in companies of various sectors and sizes. Their commercial and business management tasks cover all functions of a company. Industrial clerks support all company processes from a business perspective, from order initiation to customer service after the order has been completed. They can work in the core commercial functions of marketing and sales, procurement and stockpiling, service accounting and human resources as well as in liaison with other specialist departments, commercial areas and projects.

The relevant knowledge and skills are imparted as part of the practical work at the municipal utilities as well as through vocational school lessons (Kleve district vocational college in Geldern).

For example, the trainees learn at the training company:

  • how the demand for products and services is determined
  • how costs are recorded and monitored
  • how cost planning and control instruments are used
  • how personnel requirements are calculated and how personnel management is organized
  • which recruitment and selection tools are used
  • how to manage balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
  • how payment transactions and dunning processes are processed
  • how sales channels are used effectively
  • how to handle service, customer service and warranty services

At vocational school, further knowledge is acquired in job-specific learning fields (e.g. analyzing and assessing value creation processes, understanding market-oriented business processes of an industrial company) as well as in general education subjects such as German/communication and politics/social studies.


We are looking for people who are eager to learn, committed, communicate positively and are open to new ideas. We expect:

  • At least Fachoberschulreife (grade point average at least 3.0)
  • High motivation, willingness to perform and learn
  • Diligence and ability to concentrate
  • Communication skills and sociability
  • organizational skills
  • Commercial thinking, negotiating skills and assertiveness
