Your training
as a businesswoman / businessman for marketing communication (m/f/d)
Location: "Kevelaer Marketing" staff unit - "Marketing & Event" department
In this three-year apprenticeship, we will make you fit in theory and practice!
You will receive both vocational training (Walter-Eucken-Berufskolleg in Düsseldorf) and on-the-job training in the "Kevelaer Marketing" department of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer. Here, the areas of culture, city marketing and tourism, including the city's concert and stage house and public meeting place, are bundled into an exciting working environment with many creative opportunities.
Marketing communication specialists develop target group-oriented marketing and advertising measures, coordinate and monitor their implementation and check the results.
Your tasks include:
- Writing press releases and advertising copy
- Creating advertising materials such as brochures, advertisements, posters and presentations
- Updating the website
- Creating newsletters
- Social media including community management
- Image editing and video creation
- Support with the organization of trade fairs and events
- Market analysis and identification of target groups
In addition, knowledge about topics such as rights and obligations during training, organization of the training company and environmental protection is taught throughout the training.
Further knowledge is acquired at vocational school:
- in job-specific learning fields (e.g. planning, managing and controlling procurement processes, analyzing and evaluating markets)
- in general education subjects such as German and economics and social studies
We are looking for people who are committed and willing to learn, who communicate positively and are open to new
ideas. We expect:
- At least Fachhochschulreife
- High IT affinity for website, newsletter and CRM system
- Communication talent with an understanding of numbers
- Confident handling of Microsoft Office products and willingness to familiarize yourself with other software products
- Strong service orientation and enjoyment in dealing with people
- Independent, solution-oriented work as well as initiative and reliability
- Ability to work in a team, resilience and flexibility

The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer regularly trains one trainee (m/f/d) in this profession. As a rule, the training position is reallocated every three years (after the previous trainee (m/f/d) has completed their training).
