Council decides to continue line 73

As in the previous summer vacations, the special council meeting on Tuesday also dealt with the decision to extend the contract between the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and NI-AG for the continuation of route 73. The council unanimously approved the decision to continue the route in its current form.

The current service contract with NIAG and its subsidiary LOOK Busreisen GmbH for bus route 73 ends on September 30, 2024. A passenger count commissioned by the city in September 2023 showed high demand on all transport days, especially at weekends.

A new contract is now to be awarded to NIAG until December 31, 2025 in order to seamlessly continue the operation of line 73. Following the Council's decision, the administration is now entering into contract negotiations with NIAG.
