The construction of the new fire station in Twisteden is visibly progressing after 10 months of construction - and everything is going according to schedule and budget.
At the beginning of this year, work began on the construction of a new fire station on the western outskirts of Twisteden, on Maasweg/Weversweg. The new building will provide the Twisteden fire department with modern and functional accommodation to enable them to perform their many tasks in the best possible way.
The building includes a two-storey social wing with changing rooms and sanitary facilities as well as a spacious training room with space for up to 70 emergency personnel. The vehicle hall is designed for four emergency vehicles and thus ensures efficient operational readiness. During the planning phase, particular emphasis was placed on energy efficiency and resource conservation, so that the building meets the latest standards and is equipped with state-of-the-art heating and ventilation technology.
The existing Twisteden fire station building on Maasweg, built in 1965, was clearly getting on in years and offered no space for expansion. A new building was therefore constructed on the outskirts of the town.
