In the south of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer, three apartment buildings with 14 residential units each are being built in the immediate vicinity of the Solegarten. Zevens Grundbesitz GmbH is thus fulfilling the wish of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer to create urgently needed affordable living space. The district of Kleve provided Bernd Zevens and his Zeven Grundbesitz GmbH with funding from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the 42 residential units. 9.1 million euros were approved for the construction project from the NRW public housing subsidy.
Construction work on the Hüls recently began. Ina Scharrenbach, Minister for Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Digitization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, has now presented the state's funding decision on site: "Creating affordable housing is our passion. Public housing funding is an anchor of stability for the housing industry: with 9,101,332 euros, public housing funding is helping to create new, affordable and modern living space in Kevelaer. In this way, the pilgrimage town remains a town that can offer housing for everyone. And public housing promotion continues: 10.5 billion euros will be made available by 2027. This makes North Rhine-Westphalia the 'place to build' for affordable housing."
Net-zero standard" construction method
The project was planned by the planning office Dr. Völling und Partner in Goch. Investor Bernd Zevens emphasizes that the sizes and layouts of the apartments were chosen so that they are suitable for different household sizes such as single people, couples, single parents with children or pensioners. The apartments are between 51 and 80 square meters in size. They are all subject to rent and occupancy restrictions.
All three apartment buildings are being built to the so-called "net-zero standard". This means that the final energy requirement for the heat supply - domestic water and heating - is covered entirely by renewable energy generated in the building itself. The apartments can be reached via an elevator.
