Dear fellow citizens,
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the German Bundestag will be newly elected.
I ask you to cast your vote to help shape the future of our state. Democracy needs voters. Only those who vote and thus exercise their most important political right can take part in the political decision-making process and help decide who moves into the new Bundestag.
Your District Administrator
Christoph Gerwers
Information on the election process
If you are going to vote, you should take your polling card and your identity card or passport with you in case you have any questions. If you have forgotten or lost your polling card, you can still cast your vote in your polling station on presentation of your ID card or passport.
You will find the address of your polling station on your polling card. As this may have changed since the last election, you should take another look at the polling station notification before going to the polling station. Many local authorities also offer a "polling station finder" on their website. They are also available to answer any questions you may have by telephone.
You can also take part in the ballot box election if you have applied for postal voting documents and missed the deadline for sending them. In this case, please go to your polling station and bring your polling card and your identity card or passport with you. The polling card is the white section of the postal voting documents sent to you, which is located above the red ballot paper envelope.
Postal voting documents can also be deposited in the letterbox at the town hall indicated on the envelope by 6 p.m. on election Sunday.
The polling stations on February 23, 2025 will be open from 8 am to 6 pm. The votes will then be counted there. This is open to the public.
