Child and youth development

"Your opinion counts": District-wide survey for children, teenagers and young adults launched

A district-wide online survey of children, teenagers and young adults between the ages of 6 and 27 will take place in the district of Kleve from January 27 to February 23, 2025. All youth welfare offices in the district of Kleve (towns of Emmerich am Rhein, Geldern, Goch, Kleve, the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and the youth and family department of the district of Kleve) are due to update their child and youth development plans at the end of this year. These plans describe the goals and tasks of the respective municipal child and youth development programs. In order to involve young people in the planning process, the online survey will be carried out jointly throughout the district. Further information and the link to the online questionnaires can be found at www.kreis-kleve.de/jugendumfrage.

The survey covers topics such as family, school, leisure and much more. The aim is to find out what is important to children, teenagers and young adults, what services they lack locally and what they would like to see in the future. The respondents' answers are intended to provide insights into how the Kleve district can be made even better for young people.

In order to involve as many young people as possible, the survey of children and young people is being organized via the schools. The initiators have already informed the school principals and asked for their support. As children in their first and second year of school as well as children, teenagers and young adults at special schools or with a disability may need help answering the questionnaire, parents or caregivers will also be asked for support. All other pupils can complete the online survey during school lessons.

The initiators would like to point out that young adults up to the age of 27 can also take part - regardless of whether they are in training, studying, unemployed or already working, for example. A total of four different questionnaires are available for the online survey - differentiated by age and target group: Responding is voluntary and anonymous and takes around 20 to 30 minutes. Participants are requested to complete the questionnaire only once.

The contact details of those responsible for the survey can be found in the online questionnaires under "Contact person". In addition, interested parties can send their inquiries to the Kleve district by email: jugendhilfeplanung@kreis-kleve.de.
