At its last meeting, the Bocholt City Council elected Dave Welling as the new Head of Building by a majority vote. Dave Welling has been Head of Urban Development and Building Regulations at the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer since 2021. During this time, he has made a significant contribution to the further development and implementation of numerous construction projects in Kevelaer and has contributed his professional expertise in many areas.
"For Kevelaer, but also personally, I very much regret Mr. Welling's departure, as he has made a big difference in our city and is a valued and capable head of department. At the same time, however, I can understand him and am pleased for him that he will soon be working in his home town," said Mayor Dr. Dominik Pichler.
Dave Welling emphasizes that "it is a decision for Bocholt and my family and not against Kevelaer. I'm leaving with a smile and a tear in my eye, as I've always felt at home in Kevelaer and really enjoyed my work. But I'm also looking forward to being able to help shape my home town in the future."
The exact date of the change has not yet been determined. The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer will now begin the search for a successor for the head of the department and advertise the position in a timely manner.
