House connection

Here you can find out what property owners in Kevelaer need to know about connecting a property to the public water supply.

Water supply in 2 steps

1) Application for drinking water connection

We require an application for the installation of a drinking water service connection from the main pipe in the street to your building. It can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. Once you have completed the application, please send it to us with all the necessary documents.

The required documents include

  • Official site plan with desired cable routing
  • Basement floor plan or floor plan of the house connection room
  • Section drawings

Once we have received your application for a water connection, we will commission the civil engineering company carrying out the work. The subsequent scheduling coordination for bundling the work is then carried out directly by the civil engineering company carrying out the work. You will receive a letter from them in which you can state your preferred dates for the installation of the house connection.

2) Application for commissioning

To install the water meter, we require the application for commissioning the connection. You will find the download on the top right.

Cost savings - coordination with other suppliers

Almost every newly built house in Kevelaer gets a connection for water, sewage, electricity and telecommunications. A gas connection may also be provided, depending on the heating system.

We have therefore set ourselves the goal of coordinating the construction of all house connection pipes from the street to the house in a citizen-friendly manner and, if possible, laying them in a joint house connection trench with the other utilities. It will also be checked whether and to what extent coordination with the sewer property connection line is possible. This bundling is intended to avoid duplicate openings in the public area and, above all, reduce costs for the building owner.

These are the following suppliers, for each of which a separate application must be submitted:

  • Westnetz AG Regional Center Lower Rhine as electricity grid operator
  • Gelsenwasser-Energienetze GmbH as gas supplier
  • Deutsche Telekom AG as a telecommunications company
  • Stadtwerke Kevelaer as water supplier and wastewater disposal company
