Quick financial help for SV Union Wetten tent camp

Sometimes things have to happen quickly. And unbureaucratically. That's what those responsible at the "Energy for Kevelaer" fund, the Kerpenkate Foundation and the Kevelaer community foundation "Seid einig" thought. After hearing about the severe storm that devastated the camp of the youth section of SV Union Wetten in the Eifel region, they all agreed: we have to help here. And donated a large sum together. "We're glad that nothing happened to the children and supervisors. And we hope that the money can be used to quickly purchase new equipment for the camp," explains Wolfgang Toonen from Stadtwerke Kevelaer. Together with BW Kevelaer, Stadtwerke donated to the sports club for the "Energy for Kevelaer" fund.

The Kerpenkate Foundation, known for its unbureaucratic help, also donated spontaneously. Heinz Lamers regrets that the start of the vacation camp began with such a shock for everyone: "From what we hear, the heavy rain and strong winds caused a lot of damage to property - but the mood of the participants seems to be as good as ever." 60 children and 20 supervisors were caught out by the ten-minute storm. Thanks to the quick help on site and improvisation skills, however, the camp did not have to be canceled. "This is exactly how we imagine working hand in hand for each other - sometimes spontaneously and without major hurdles," says Stefan Jansen from the Kevelaerer Bürgerstiftung "Seid einig", which is also donating a larger amount to SV Union Wetten. Money for repairs and new purchases so that the children and the team of supervisors can have as carefree a time as possible at the camp.
