In 2025, the "Energy for Kevelaer" fund will once again support daycare centres, schools, clubs and other non-profit organizations in the town. The four fund donors - BW Kevelaer, Bürgerenergie Schwarzbruch-Nord, Stadtwerke Kevelaer and NiersEnergie - are jointly providing 50,000 euros for this purpose. Around 160 clubs and associations in Kevelaer will be informed about the new call for applications in the coming days. The application deadline is April 7.
Fast, unbureaucratic and effective
"Clubs are the heart of our town. They strengthen cohesion, promote volunteering and make Kevelaer a better place to live. The 'Energy for Kevelaer' fund is our contribution to supporting this commitment," explains Mayor Dr. Dominik Pichler. Projects that deal with sustainability, climate protection or energy saving are particularly welcome. "We welcome any idea that makes a contribution to the energy transition," adds Wolfgang Toonen, Operations Manager at Stadtwerke Kevelaer. "Because together we can actively shape the change."
A wide range of projects are supported
The funding can be used for a variety of measures. These include, for example, purchases for club requirements, such as sports equipment, musical instruments or club clothing, as well as public events, including concerts, exhibitions or workshops. Structural measures such as renovations or energy-efficient refurbishments of club buildings are also eligible for funding. "Thanks to your energy, there's new energy for Kevelaer," says Adolf Magoley from BW Kevelaer, summarizing the motivation behind the fund.
The annual funding amount of 50,000 euros is made up as follows: 20,000 euros from Stadtwerke Kevelaer, 10,000 euros from NiersEnergie and 20,000 euros from BW Kevelaer and Bürgerenergie Schwarzbruch-Nord. These funds come from the proceeds of the wind turbines in Kevelaer.
How clubs can submit an application
The application for funding is simple and informal. A short letter with a description of the project and a cost breakdown is sufficient. Measures can also be funded retrospectively, provided they were carried out in the current year. Applications must be sent to the following address by April 7, 2025:
Stadtwerke Kevelaer
